THIERRY FISCHER appointed Principal Guest Conductor, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra
It was announced today that Thierry Fischer will become Principal Guest Conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra starting January 2017 for an initial three years, and running concurrently with his ongoing Music Directorship of the Utah Symphony Orchestra. He will visit Seoul at least four times a season to conduct the orchestra, both in subscription and in their Ars Nova contemporary music series, and will play an important role in the artistic planning. His team includes Grawemeyer Award-winning composer Unsuk Chin the long-standing Composer in Residence, and Markus Stenz the new Conductor in Residence.
